Day 1: Coastal Resorts & Landmarks

Begin your adventure by visiting the sunny coastal towns of Estoril and Cascais, famous for their beaches and entertainment venues.

Next, journey through Cabo da Roca to Sintra, where you will have a gourmet lunch paired with wine. Once finished, you’ll explore Pena Palace.

Finish the day with Lisbon sightseeing and check in for the night at luxurious Pestana Palace with a beautiful view of the Tagus River.

Day 2: Journey From Alentejo Country To Beiras Mountains

Start your day in Alentejo among savory almond orchards and rich vineyards, then tour the countryside of Evora and Marvoa to discover historic castles.

End the day in Belmonte in a village by Serra da Estrela with dinner and a view from a luxury Pousada.

Day 3: Get A Taste Of Douro’s Wine Region

Step into Belmonte and continue to Lamego, catching scenic views along the way. Visit the Douro Wine district for a winery tour, tasting, and lunch at a vineyard. Explore Solar de Maeus, then spend the night in Amarante with dinner included.

Day 4: Explore Spirituality At Braga

Sight-see in Amarante to start, then explore spiritual sites in Braga.  Travel on towards Ponte de Lima for the town’s reknowned Vinho Verde (green wine) and intricate embroidery. End the day with dinner and overnight in Guimarães.

Day 5: Get In-Depth Up North

Start in Guimarães, a historic city that birthed the beginning of Portugal’s Old World Kingdom. Visit breath-taking castles, then travel to Porto, Portugal’s “Second Capital City”. Sight-see around the city, then take a private wine tour in Vila Nova de Gaia. Spend the night at a five-star Intercontinental Palacio.

Day 6: Experience The Beauty Of Coimbra

Explore Porto at your own leisure in the morning, then continue with the group to Coimbra. Enjoy Roman ruins, cathedrals, and Baroque architecture in the city.

Overnight at Quinta das Lagrimas with dinner.

Day 7: Visit Portugal’s Pilgrimage Sites

Begin your adventure with a visit to Fatima, one of the Catholic world’s holiest Pilgrimage sites. Tour through Batalha, Alcobaça, and Obidos for a cultural (and spiritual) experience.

End the day by returning to Lisbon with an optional traditional fado dinner.

Day 8-9: Extend Your Love For Lisbon!

Immerse yourself further in Portuguese culture by extending your stay for two nights in Lisbon, either before or after your Exclusive Expedition around the country. The days will be yours to wander historical neighborhoods, visit world-class museums or sample the unique taste of Portugal’s many specialty food and wine specialties – there is no shortage of things to do! You will stay two more nights at the luxurious Pestana Palace hotel as well as enjoy a private airport transfer upon arrival and departure. You won’t miss two more days at home but you might regret leaving Lisbon too soon!
